Message So here's the story by the owner/driver of the car.

I wasn't out to push the car on the dyno today. Getting peak numbers was not my intention at all. I wanted to mainly see what my A/F and hp was on a daily driving basis with pump 91 gas and also see what needed to be fixed.

Boost controller (Profect-B spec II) is set up as:
Off=12-14.5 psi
On/lo=18-20 psi
On/hi= I haven't even touched it.

First run was with the boost controller on, lo setting. Car hit 514/459 at 18.6 psi. I did not expect to hit this number at all, and to me I really didn't. I figured my numbers would be around 425-450 for daily. At the and of the graph there was a spike that kicked it up. the curve looked "good" up to 460rwhp. So for me, I was happy.

We weren't sure what caused the spike. We were thinking maybe the wastgate that I've been having problems with. So we shut the controler off and did a run at a lower psi. This run hit 404/367 at 12 psi. Graph was "good" with no spike.

We were also thinking maybe my gain was adjusted wrong on the controller so I turned it down some, turned the controller on again and did another run. That was the run that hit 534/509 at 21 psi, but was spiking up and down again at the end. Changing the gain effected the boost obviously. Dallas, Colocomp and myself were standing in the front of the car and it sounded like I had a boost leak when it was getting up into the higher rpms. So we did one more pass so we could listen again. Sure enough, the Apexi BOV's seemed to be releasing pressure on and off, and they seemed to match the waves on the dyno graph.

So today was a good day for me. I didn't care about the numbers, and I found out a few things that need to be looked at. I want to look into my low torque numbers as well. I don't really like the curve of the graphs before it goes wacky. This is why I put the word "good" in quotes above. I need to get the Profec-B spec II dialed in as well as I think it has some tuning left to be done to it. I have the charts but don't have a scanner. And since I'm not claiming to have hit the high number yet they don't really mean anything.

So now I can move forward. I need to get my dual-pop on and the afc hooked up and look at some different BOVs to make sure that was the problem with them, then dyno again. Once that looks good, then I can crank it up go for the peak numbers for the retards to whine about.

Always a pleasure guys.
